All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

(Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Burmese)

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.

Article 9:

Burma is known as a golden land made of several ranges (or ‘Yoma’ in Burmese) where thousands of tribal memories, wisdoms, religions, cultures and beauties of plants and animals dwell. The rivers, all of them are indeed important to the people and other existences, snake through these beautiful mountainous regions and flow from the north to the south where Indian Ocean is. The peoples, Burma has 103 ethnics, all of them used to be really generous and all they knew was to give.

Since the modern day’s dictators have systematically destroyed, now the golden land is famous for its narcotic trades, refugees, migrant workers and various atrocities and sufferings.

One day, we’ll be free again and the land will be again famous for its beauty.

Divide them and You will Rule

Power does not come from the people who are united
Their power stays with them
Power comes from the people when they are divided
As divided power is weak – to be controlled by
Someone who finds the opportunity

Opportunity does not always come
Opportunity must be created
Divide the people to rule the people – one group rules the other
Opportunity divides
Inequality divides
Conflict divides

The ruled will be eager to be ruled
The followers will be eager to follow
The believers will be eager to believe
They will keep themselves kept
They will trap themselves trapped
They will tie themselves tied
They will lie to themselves lied

People are divided when
They do not follow the rules of unity
They break rules and expect others do too

They blackmail themselves blackmailed
They trust by means of betrayal
They loyal by means of antisocial

They won't have to prove how better values they have either. Everyone should report to authority and authority should take care of the situation "once and forever".

Future of Burma as Multicultural Society In Light of Buddhism and Global Enlightenment

No! I'm not against the religious freedom!

Freedom of faith is actually everything in this very world. Humans are the being of faith and it's impossible to separate us from what we believe in. Whether a belief to last or not, whether it's realistic to have such a faith, whether it's a religious ideology or something against religions, we humans cannot exist without having something as a belief. This is not conditional but a universal truth for all living beings small or large. It's a universal truth because perception is made of memories, such as images, voices, words, thoughts and ideas. All beings are with perception to perceive information from their immediate surroundings with the five sensory organs and also from their ideas of the past and future with their mind. Whether a belief is a small one such as a cat has claws, or a big one like a religion, the basic is the same. Hence, no living organism can exist without a belief.

A belief can be anything. It can be fantasy. A cat has claws but the cat itself is merely a form of a living thing. The core reality is hidden within the cat. But we are usually with the appearance. And here I have made a statement of my belief. I know there is no restriction upon this kind of random beliefs but religious restriction is what we generally consider with the freedom of faith.

It's impossible to restrict people from their thoughts, whatever might be, but the visible part is what restricted for reasons as in political oppression, religious discrimination, racial discrimination and cultural discrimination. There can be other reasons too such as freedom thought and freedom of speech – i.e. oppression on intellectual expression and the practice of conscience. In brief, that is the practice which is restricted in practice – either by the law or without law. Different people have different views. It's possible that everyone has a different opinion on anything they know. Different levels of prejudgement, disagreement, discrimination and expectation are inevitable; however, the obvious level is what is considered as lack of respect, oppressive and anti-freedom in which different opinions and practices are forced to conform to the accepted ways with violent means and/or nonviolent discriminations. It’s not about a letter to the editor, resume, news, a paper should be able to write in any style or format; conformity is in everything too.

Iranian female soccer team has been seeking recognition from the world about their headscarfs. It’s a difficult issue for sure from both sides: the players in the team and the world body of soccer. The female players are trying to change the rule of soccer for women. At the same time, they’re not able to appear outside without their headscarfs. Both sides are not wrong to keep their identity. But soccer is now global. So I hope the soccer body would manage to make it global identity bringing all tother into the peaceful common ground as special events of sport and expression of prosperity. One day, I hope the world soccer games could be played in Iran too.

As being in Australia, I would be hypocrite if I oppose Burma accepting other religious groups. I’m here practising my way of faith without any supervision of any authority. Australia is a multicultural although its parliamentary debate generally starts with a religious tradition these days. Burma is naturally multicultural. It’s never been intolerant against different faiths although different individuals have different response to different faiths and beliefs. Burma never fought religious war in any religious name although partial religious wars did happen in defence of Buddhism which were actually racial wars among different ethnics. I wonder the future multicultural Burma wouldn’t be any different at all although the Buddhists are the majority – but made of the minorities whose cultural identities have been oppressed in racial ground. Buddhism is not more important than other rights they have lost because the ways they practised Buddhism have been oppressed too. Christianity, Hindu, Islam and other religions of different ethnics of Burma should be seen in the same condition. The main thing is making the country to exist in prosperity. Everything else is up to individuals whatever they want to do with their freedoms in harmony with all others. There will be no prosperity if there is oppression on freedom of faith, freedom of speech and freedom of thought. If Buddhism is practised correctly, there are no such oppressions. Buddhism comes from India via Sri Lanka to Burma. Buddhism is for all but oppression. Actually Buddhism is used for ego-expression of ethnicity – i.e. racial discrimination. Buddhism was never spread with violence because Buddhism is not aligned with violence. If Buddhism is used for ego-expression, it’s only a way to make it become pseudo-Buddhism that you can find in many a place. The Buddha said do everything good, avoid all evil action. Nobody can identify themselves as Buddhist if doing everything bad and evil. Being a Buddhist is not an identity – not acceptable identity. Buddhism is not for identity. A pseudo-Buddhist is not an actual Buddhist. Buddhism doesn’t belong to any group, nor is for any identity. The way of the Aryans, the Noble Eightfold Path, is for achieving the freedom from identity.

Of course I remember a protest during the colonial era against the officials who entered the religious places such as pagodas. We do want respect so we do need to show respect. This kind of respect is deserved by everyone, every group in the world. It’s not hard to understand. Well, let’s see what will be in the future in Burma. Rather expect all good and just do for that. The polite world has been promoting tolerance, peace and prosperity. We all should have a share in such promotion – of course for our own sake!

Of course I only like seeing the good images of the world! I’m more than aware of the ugly images as the society I come from is much of the parts of such images. It’s a worst country, a poorest country, exporting bad news, a burden of neighbouring countries, hosting the longest civil war... If Buddhism can survive in a country like this, it can survive anywhere else too although it has yet to take a good foothold elsewhere outside the traditional, historical region. I wonder how the people of Burma managed to succumb to their nightmare, actually a nightmare of the world which was not remembered by world when it was waken. As Burma needs the world for cultural development and economic opportunity, it must adapt world standards in both practice and ideology, and it will be a way of expressing a Buddhist attitude and group think.

Burma is a society with many problems - conservatism in cultural issues will be the main problem as it is today. A decade ago, the long haired singers were banned (wtf!) as though short-haired style was Burman style! No, Burmans didn't have short hair, it was Mon and Thai people who cut their hair short. And they wanted soldier-short I guess! Being too conservative is too egocentric. Certainly women have been subject for ridicule. They are not allowed to wear whatever they want. Men were generally the trouble makers in this and women themselves were so horny to hurt each others. Maybe it is genetic problem that we are so sensitive and extreme in jealousy. Perhaps it's our education that shaped us to behave the way we do. Nature and nurture give each other a hand in enslaving our society. Do I need to say more?

Spacious, Smooth, Swift Reforms?

I knew there was a condition/style of check&balance in the Myanmar parliament - no accidental. Generally there must be a group made of different individuals with different views; hence, whoever supporting the reformists can be extremists too. What I mean is any of the groups at all in the military must naturally have different individuals - unlike how it is in the parliament one side extremists (or the conservatives) and another moderate (or the reformists). That's the style of  the Myanmar parliamentary formations (grouping) as I see.

I suspected such deliberate set-up was made for a purpose - we know what it is.

As the need of reforming all sectors of the country, I rather assume both sides (conservatives and reformists) will go for that - as we see how popular the reformists have become and how they have improved the image of the military. But the conservatives are supposed to drag the legs of the reformists - like the metal shackles used in Burma prisons. You all know what the shackles do to the prisoners. The shackles formed with the metal bars and metal chains are very famous because of their role in Burma.

With above view, I expect the reform will go on but with slow pace and even often U-turns. We have not yet seen any U-turn in recent politics but in the way the military treat the ethnic minorities and the agreements it had with them.

The same ideology, divide and rule, is applied to the ethnics and the military is trying to take advantage of the agreements and ceasefire it has had or will have with some of the ethnic armed groups.

As long as such different conditions applied on politics and the ethnic minorities, the mode of the military might not be committed 100% wholeheartedly to its promised reforms - simply the spacious, smooth, swift reforms cannot be expected yet. But time will tell. Sooner than later the true image of the military, the government and the parliament will be revealed - cannot be hidden for long.

What should be expected is the swift reforms for economy and education. They are crucial for the people of Burma/Myanmar. They should be done as soon as possible. All sides should emphasize on these issues as deal with them - as the platform or meeting place for all sides so that they can also keep dealing with other issues: political reform, the reforms for the rights of ethnic minorities.

The way that should be settled is through negotiation of course. If negotiation is the best way to settle the differences, it should be applied in every dispute ...

God and Patience

according to the bible,

God didn't teach Adam how to apologize after Adam ignorantly ate the fruit of "knowledge".

his plan was obvious. he tricked Adam by allowing the snake into Eden and let them meet.

that's why he kicked Adam and Eve together out of Eden and let them suffer death as human ancestors. they are two who were the first victims of God - by murder. Every time a human dies naturally, God is responsible for murder.

God forced them to breed and make human generations. Forced them to eat animals by killing them. we all know all animals fear of death and always run away from the predators. but God let them get killed by man, and man to get killed by them and by other mans too.

By death, God test whether mans have faith in him. if he found no faith, according to his inconsistent laws, he sent mans to hell eternally. animals do not have to go to hell. that proves he treats mans worse than animals.

but there is no obvious information about heaven. what do people do in heavens? nobody knows or have clear answers. what do people do eternally in haven?

(According to Islam, men have purpose - God will give them many a virgin up to 70(?). I don't know about women and what they'll do in heaven.)

So what I find is -
God planned everything in advance.
God designed above scenario.

Therefore, patience is irrelevant.

Intuition

Belief in god is cultural issue. When a kid is raised in a culture that is influenced by such faith, that kid is likely to fall for it - but if the kid is forced to follow the culture, he/she will. Kids don't have resistance.

Human tendency is obviously egocentric - that one things one's culture is better for example. This leads to my religion is better. Just the way football fans support their team good or bad. They can even hate other teams and fight with their fans. At school level, students are made into teams and teams don't get along.

Human is basically superficial and egocentric. Unless one is exposed to a good family, culture, tradition, good teachers, etc, one is naturally to fall; won't become good automatically. if forced, one can become even worse. If exposed to worst culture, one can become a worst beast as human being.

It’s all about culture and also natural tendency of individuals. Culture is explained.

Tendency of a person is obvious too. That is what makes us different and unique and not robotic or mass-produced products. Due to such tendency, even smallest living organism (microbes) can get own personality.

Some people are smart from birth. Some are not. Even within a family, siblings have the differences. Genetic explanation got to get this far in explaining why even twins are different.

Some people are greedy some are not. Some are good in nature as some have short temper with either good or bad nature. Some are smart but do not have the heart for others. Some are smart enough to have a heart for others. Just consider all aspects of humanity. I hope science will explain it all sooner than later.

We use the word 'intuition' when we know something is right yet hard to explain. Sometimes we don't have enough idea how to explain it.
Intuition also happens when we have to feel something to happen - such as we might find the path (as in jungle) and as keep going you find the path (toward the village). Like it might rain tomorrow although it is sunny now and you have not heard the news and it might rain too - but you must rely on some commonsense though like seeing the cloud is building up.

However, intuition is for those who are uncertain. The more you learn, the less intuition is needed. Yes, intuition in math is obvious for kids who have to submit the calculation expecting the have the right answers. There they have to come into conclusion that they got it right and stop working on a problem.

Whenever a complex problem is there to solve, the need for intuition is obvious.
The more complex the problem, the more intuition is needed.
Hence superstition in real great events in history can be found - such as the battle won by the inferior side which the soldiers or the historians cannot explain how it happened. Consider this –

The Anglo-Spanish War: The Spanish Armada
http://militaryhistory.about.com/od/battleswars14011600/a/armada.htm

Well speculations are speculations.

The more we understand, the less for intuition. But do have enough words to explain everything? Have we? No. sooner or later new words will come into the world to explain new findings. So the place for intuition is still necessary in science too. That is also called hypothesis. The gut feeling of something that it must be so - it can be right etc. intuition is not the good way to end the explanation. But evolutionary theory is still at its level of intuition too - especially when it comes from how life started on earth. Evolution is fine and well explained but when it comes to links, e.g. humans might come from a branch of monkey. Where is the evidence? NO!!! Nothing but it’s science!!! And thus we must accept it, huh?

lol yes I'm laughing.

There the more we feel sure, the less intuition involves. There is no need for intuition in 2+2=4. Should I still say 'I think I might get it right this time"? Maybe!

Happy New Year to Burma

Election has finished
Power is just reconnected to that drug factory
War has been renewed
Refugees being kicked back and fort
The ball is wet in the mud
The audience sway their hearts
The score is just seven to one
Wealth Engagement Vs Sanction…
The referee has lost his whistle in mud
As he searches, somebody takes his pants and runs around the field
Nobody could see a solution
The game going on for twenty years without rules
Now the kindergarteners teaching at schools…

Burma generous so
Sacrifices herself
For the wealth of her neighbours;
There She goes an’ works as much tamed servant
As throwing her heritance away
Her land no longer a hermitage

.........
Well, I'm watching from the side of sanction though. That's what I think I should side for now.

her dead sons

what are you losing mother?
your sons are just fed into the rotting war!
mother! don’t you know?
they march straight on death’s eyebrow?
mother! at front line, dusk and morn, padlocked
toward the mouth
of war, fate of hell, inhumane, your sons are vainly proud!
battle-cry, as the devil roars, they shout
‘mother fuckers!’ as they dangle their heads into through,
they exchange fires, solemnly at
made enemies, all your sons, each others, mean indignantly!
yes, mother! your sons are vulgar, so disrespect, depressed
and utterly misled!
mother! do you miss your sons at the moment?
forever dead! they’re not coming back! Mother!
red, their heads turned into flames, their barren hearts changed into ash.
they have to serve!
and they serve!
burnt into uncertain future
fouled into two moulds: rebel and private soldier
placed face to face, just like gladiators
to do one thing!
medalled or just worthless toy soldiers
mother! your sons are just desperate thieves and ragged beggars
honorarium, they earn grievance
they pay for clothe and food with that
mother! you know best
if the war hasn’t claimed them yet,
dyslexia - dark fluke, the starry life to them
floundering in this graceless game
mother! don’t, just don’t remember your sons and cry again!
raiders, rapists and murderers...,
mother! don't try, just don’t try restore these heavily armed villains,
your sons have changed! no longer who you gave birth to!
never reclaim who you raised into!
now they’re
dangerous, they respire command,
scandalous, they delight in fear and sweat,
living as marching bodies thwarting the leisure of death!

Pink-Hippo Pictures: Rare Youngster Spotted in Kenya

Pink-Hippo Pictures: Rare Youngster Spotted in Kenya

Just like this hippo, a rare pink one, some great white elephants were pink rather than white. Some white elephants were described to have pink skin, pink eyelashes, pink trunk, pink nails, everything just pink - but probably not their ivories and body hairs including the hairs at the tip of the tail. Well, elephant hairs from the tip of the tail are used for bracelets in Burma - dark black ones indeed.

I read about white elephants in Burmese literature. There were 10 types of elephants and the white ones were giant and powerful so the normal elephants fear/respect them. White elephants were believed born from ordinary elephants - but they rather lived with their mammies and looked after them till they died. Buddhism randomly appreciates the white elephant. As a bodhisattva, a white elephant lived with his mother during the Gotama Buddha time. The love story of three elephants, the bodhisattva and his two wives, in the Pali Cannon is a famous reference to poets and writers and different artists in Burma.

So a white elephant was really rare and believed as a king of elephants or the head of its heard. And those white ones were believed as the significant beings in Buddhism.

NIRVANA

Min Khin Kyaw

Average human consumption of resources in a lifetime is significant. As one lives, one must consume and get a share small or huge. Minimum is still significant to other life forms – even if you’re a vegetarian. A person needs an area to live in, some food, some water, some fresh air, some fuel, some carbon-footprint and some amount of fun. A vegetarian needs some plants on which other living things can rely on too. So a share is a share whether small or large.

The concept of nirvana is to give up that little share completely. Then other living things can share that tiny amount. Just think about both a whale carcass and a dead microbe – they both can be consumed by many.

To gain nirvana, a person gradually gives up his share he gains by any means. And when one has done by giving up the share, one achieves nirvana. In this case, the craving for the share has to be given up completely too. Giving up the share cannot be completed if the crave for a share is still remained.

The Buddha emphasized three kinds of cravings: the craving for materials and the sensual things, the craving for being or life and the craving for higher life-form, such as divinity; and each craving is the desire for a share. This is what to know.

Hence, there are the condition for desire and the condition for the need for desire – as a fact of the existence. Desire is just desire and common to every living being. The condition for the need for desire is also belongs to every living being. Upon these two factors, the existence has all the lures for both higher intelligence and lower intelligence. As for scientists, the complexity of existence is the lure; for a poet and writer, the beauty of words, the beauty of information and the beauty of creation are the lure; and for a tiny fish, a worm attached to the hook is the lure.

So the universe or the great existence is just us the beings and lures – nothing else. Maya is the word for lure which I learned when I was young and didn’t understand well then. Whether craving to know, or craving to have – whether for good or bad – are attached with strings with hooks but one is like the needle that injects medicine and the other poison.

It seems all the lures for both low and high intelligence are attached to hooks that have hooked the hearts of the beings. The reason for the hooks is when we remove or cut the lure or run out of the lure, we get hurt inside – and well, we crave for more. To a scientists, being unable to study the complexity hurts. To a poet, being short of words hurts. And to a tiny fish, the actual hook hurts. And each heart is hooked by countless hooks and hooked by the same hooks countless times. And being with more hooks those inject poison than those inject medicine is very painful.

Removing each hook seems really painful. But each hook in the flesh indeed hurts very painfully. However, a wound seems to be normal until the nurse comes and clean it up and put certain medicine, the pain becomes unbearable again – and that seems the reason why people don’t like the hooks removed to heal their wounds. At the same time, the hooks are pulled by the lures. Well, the lures are both inside the heart and out there.

Imagine an image of a person being his heart hooked and the lines are attached to the lures out there near and afar. Right now I can see myself this way –
And I’m craving for my share everyday!
Hooks look really shiny and beautiful although the lines are ugly and awful...

Overturning the bowl

Posted by Han Tun (Journey to Nibbanna Yahoo Groups)

Overturning the bowl is a symbolic phrase signifying the refusal to accept offerings from a particular person. The origin story for this transaction is
a variation on the origin story for Sg 8. The followers of Mettiya and Bhummaja incite Va.d.dha the Licchavi to accuse Ven. Dabba Mallaputta of having raped his wife. (They show no imagination at all and instruct him to phrase his accusation in the same terms they taught Mettiyaa Bhikkhunii in the story to Sg 8: "The quarter without dread, without harm, without danger, is (now) the quarter with dread, with harm, with danger. From where there was calm, there is (now) a storm-wind. The water, as it were, is ablaze. My wife has been raped by Master Dabba Mallaputta." ) The Buddha convenes a meeting of the Community, at which Ven. Dabba (who attained arahantship at the age of seven) states truthfully that, "Ever since I was born, I am not aware of having engaged in sexual intercourse even in a dream, much less
when awake." The Buddha then instructs the Community to overturn its bowl to Va.d.dha, so that none of the bhikkhus are to have communion with him. (This, according to the Commentary, means that none of the bhikkhus are to accept offerings from his household.) Ven. Ānanda, on his alms round the following day, stops off at Va.d.dha's house to inform him that the Community has overturned its bowl to him. On hearing this news, Va.d.dha collapses in a faint. When he recovers, he goes with his relatives to confess his wrong doing to the Buddha. The Buddha accepts his confession and tells the Community to turn its bowl upright for Va.d.dha, so that the bhikkhus may associate with him as before.

The Community, if it wants to, may overturn its bowl to a lay person endowed with the following eight qualities: He/she

strives for the bhikkhus' material loss,
strives for the bhikkhus' detriment,
strives for the bhikkhus' non-residence (i.e., so that they can't live in a certain place),
insults and reviles bhikkhus,
causes bhikkhus to split from bhikkhus;
speaks in dispraise of the Buddha,
speaks in dispraise of the Dhamma,
speaks in dispraise of the Sa"ngha.

The Commentary adds that a lay person who has done any one of these things qualifies to have the bowl overturned. There is no need for him/her to have done all eight.

Unlike other disciplinary transactions (and unlike most Community transactions in general), the object of the transaction does not need to be present in the meeting at which the transaction is performed. This is apparently what the Commentary means when it says that the transaction may be performed within or without the territory. In other words, the lay person does not need to be in the same territory where the meeting is held.

The procedure is this: The Community meets and agrees to the transaction statement, which (in a motion and proclamation) explains the lay person's wrong doing and announces that the Community is overturning its bowl to him/her, that there is to be no communion between him/her and the Community. (The word for communion, here as elsewhere, is sambhoga, which literally means "consuming together" or "sharing wealth." An interesting anthropological study could be written on the implications of this word's being used to describe a bhikkhu's accepting alms.) The Commentary adds that the Community should then inform other Communities that they, too, are not to accept alms or offerings from the household of the lay person in question. And, as the origin story shows, the lay person should be informed of the transaction.

If the lay person mends his/her ways (in other words, stops doing the action for which the bowl was overturned in the first place and does not start doing any of the other actions that are grounds for overturning the bowl) the Community may then turn its bowl upright. The procedure here is that the person in question dresses respectfully, goes to the Community, bows down, and with hands palm-to-palm over the heart makes a formal request to have the bowl turned upright. The Commentary adds that the person should state the request three times and then leave the hatthapaasa of the Community's meeting while the transaction statement uprighting the bowl is recited, although there is nothing in the Canon to indicate that this last step is necessary. After the recitation, the bhikkhus may again accept offerings at the person's house. None of the texts mention this point, but the Community would seem honor bound to notify any of the other Communities who were
informed of the bowl's original overturning that the bowl has now been set upright.

Cluster Bomb Banned?

111 nations agreed to ban cluster bombs. Thanks a lot.

Well, it hasn't solved real problems. Many countries will keep producing and using them anyway. These bombs are also very effective strategically. Nobody wants to deny it. And these countries are allowed to fight alongside with the countries that use these bombs. As they cannot stop the future of the bombs, this success is just half-grown, I guess.

I rather suggest the world to agree to put a device inside every tiny bomb. This device must cause the bomb to explode itself. And there will be no unexploded bombs scattering and ambushing to kill civilians.

I guess this tiny device might be a dangerous issue in handling the bombs; however, it must be safer than when they’re hidden around nearby population.

Anyway, I have to leave it in the hands of experts.

Final Episode?

Certainly the junta is not a isolationist as it’s responding directly to the current international view and activity. It’s just playing its own hopeless game as hopelessist of its own hopelessism based on how people seeing it, treating it and condemning it - it‘s of course because it’s led by the 21st C greatest hopeless loser.

This is its latest mockery:
We all know that the people who are affected by the cyclone are expecting the world if they’d get help. The people know they can’t get any help from the junta so they certainly not expecting from it. At the same time, the junta was expecting 11 billions dollars. And it didn’t get it. Also the world was informed how the people have been - indicating this is not the time for reconstruction but still for rescuing jobs.
And now they are leaving the camps toward their grave yards - the destroyed delta.

We cannot know how Mr. Ban dealt with Than Shwe. We cannot know what they discussed and agreed about - and what Than Shwe did really ask. At least the UN is safe for now. We cannot blame anybody but the that he couldn’t persuade the donors to donate Than Shwe - the 11 billions dollar ransom. Worse, Mr. Ban hurt him how it pains most: “it’s enough for now!” so he has to show in whose hand the Burmese people really are - again. Not in the hand of the UN, not of the international community, not of kamma (karma), but …

Being hostages, as they’re all in the same ship heading toward the final episode of the show in the sea of hopelessism as Captain Than Shwe with his entire army laughing at them, it seems they’re going to doom.

Than Shwe is going to hell. But it’s very clear that he wants to take the whole ship with him.

Hopefully, the ship would hit a rock and break into pieces before it goes under. Hopefully, some lucky ones would reach large pieces of debris floating toward some lands. We can start to pray even by now that the currents would take them to these lands.

We know Than Shwe is a loser.

But if we are ever to be defeated by him again in the very grip of this disaster …

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/05/31/2261343.htm?section=justin

The Realities are:

It should be enough to spend 11 billions to arm the junta to defend against any invasion of the humanitarian efforts of the UN and other major NGOs that might come in time in the future when certain disasters occur – including manmade ones. I hope the people of Burma might not have to face debt collectors from arm selling countries allied with the junta in bias.

Why doesn’t the junta let the shiploads of aids to be unloaded at the delta directly to the aid workers who should already be there by now? Why doesn’t the junta consider the shorter and easier trips in delivering aid? I’m upset to hear that a French ship loaded with tones of supply materials is leaving. But how can we ask France to wait a little while as we know the junta is hopelessly selfish?

The junta has overcome its fear of the US invasion as not even for surveillance, the US would come; but the dictators will not trust the US anyway. And as foe, they want to make the US looks like an ineffective bully. And they got a chance in cyclone crisis.

Whilst the junta is claiming the US be aiming for oil reserve of Burma, it is selling to other countries anyway. Then what’s wrong with selling to the US too? Shouldn’t we trade all around the world?

(But we must sanction this dictatorship – because it won’t open its door to the free world to come and invest for human rights. Sometimes things happened to change my mind but whenever I thought seriously, I can’t imagine how I can accept the world to end their sanctions on the junta. We don’t win the battle for freedom yet but we have made the junta to live in constant fear. But we must win eventually to free the people from dictatorial hell.)

Rather the junta should consider about the fuel shortage that has been widely a problem among Burmese population. There is nothing the junta has done to exploit these natural resources for our people – apart from selling to other countries for its own advantage.

The junta’s accusation ‘the US comes for oil’ might be solicited by its supporters.

We must not forget that the fact is they have kept the junta for 20 years despite our population have rejected this dictatorship all along. They’re the ones must share responsibility on the inhumane conditions caused by the junta. There are no concerned statements from them amid false referendum; certainly this shows they like it too.

I guess Mr. Ban Ki-moon has realised as a witness about how the junta communicates and tricks the diplomats and his envoys for several years. We know whoever comes to see them concerned about what they’re doing, related to human rights issues, is a foe so they’ll engage him a psychological war to have a taste of trickery.

I knew that the junta would break its pledge to Mr. Ban. I didn’t like to think the junta has allowed the aid workers to let in rather not now but only next year. I personally didn’t believe the aid workers would be allowed in – no matter what it costs the junta. I was wrong – they only burnt down the embassy in Bangkok.

Still the junta is playing its dirty game. What is it that supporting its spine whilst it is lifting the heavy weight of cyclone crisis?

We should appreciate the efforts of the countries that have been sending in aid and aid workers – including Thailand and the Philippines. However, the future holds these countries alongside with other regional countries as neighbours and as ASEAN.

Already ASEAN has stated its unwillingness to change its policy toward Burma at the middle of cyclone crisis. We must understand this group was a biggest obstacle. It wasn’t hesitant to hinder our human rights and to belittle our efforts for freedom. It has kept silent through out cyclone crisis that it seems willing to back the junta in any issue. Only the news sending out by aid workers and journalists from disaster zones seems to have some influence on them – they have to be look good in the international community, don’t they?

We haven’t heard any criticism against the junta from these countries. We will be fooled if we think the region would never be the same again. Whatever happening in Burma now, we must not forget any of those who have been nurturing and looking after the junta to survive. They are also responsible for what happening inside Burma right now.

No matter whatever our future holds after this referendum, they will accept the junta only – no matter how the people of Burma will be held as slave labours in the region ever more, without future.

As we know this, we have to find answers best for the situation to change. As we must change the situation, we have to change the settings of this region as well but we along cannot succeed.

I believe all donors, not just some, are sincere in giving – so we can thank them wholeheartedly.

Finally, I want your ideas and strategy how a military operation against the junta be possible and how it should start to be swift and decisive. As the junta has realised the US is not really a threat, their fear of the US and their respect to the UN have disappeared all together.

War Crafts Also Must Be Ready

So the referendum has given result that the junta won by 92% Yes votes. This clearly outnumbers the NLD 90 election result that was never implemented. Let it be! As the referendum has come true with the result predicted, now the junta should have time, energy, and all resources to manage the cyclone crises. Yes, it should have.

Whilst the junta has to show its ethic to govern Burma as a good government, we have to see its actions and concern on the survivors. We have to see tens of thousands of survivors in shelters well fed and cared. We have to see hundred of nurses and doctors curing injuries and mental problems – instead of unmotivated soldiers carrying aid supplies. We have to see cleaning up actions in affected areas, burying the deaths, removing debris blocking the waterways. We have to see the junta discussing on plans to reoccupy the delta with future crops and resetting villages so that the survivors can return and live again. Yes, there are more actions needed to be done. That will certainly need millions of dollars, hundreds of aid workers and various resources to be spent in the next few years so that Burma would become normal again.

But we don’t see any of such actions at all. We can’t hear plans at all. Worse, we can’t even see any supplies for the victims in huge volumes. The junta hasn’t shown what it has. The junta hasn’t calculated how much will be spent and where these resources will come from. All we can see is the photos of the generals and soldiers walking through a few survivals. All we can hear is the junta’s denial of real event.

Even though the junta wants to govern the country, it knows nothing about governing and managing resources. It’s also clear the junta is incompetent in handling the disasters.

It’s unacceptable that the junta is blocking the helps to the survivors. It’s must unacceptable to wait and see how the victims are going to be victimized again. Indeed, the UN needs quick action and quick response. Any dilatory will result in more agony.

The UN cannot fail this time – as all it has to do is solely to supply aids. UN has to work out whether it will fail or succeed in very short period and declare the possibility. We have to demand quick results as the victims can no longer wait for nothing as are dying.

We should also demand the free-world to declare action that it is capable of helping the victims. We should see shipments of aid supplies and hundreds of helpers waiting to be ready to come in to the victims. We know this is not easy as they will certainly have to face the fierce complaints and agitation of junta. So apart from supply ships, we have to see battleships and aircraft carriers too ready for action.

Nergris: Just A Kitten To The Junta

The junta is slow to let aids workers in, as it wants to keep the referendum out of sight of the world, particularly before the referendum is held. The storm has given the junta a dilemma: to save the people or to save the referendum. The best solution seems to postpone it - the way the junta did with the national convention - before the world has to become louder.

Thanks to the French UN envoy for revealing another dirty hand of the Chinese policy on Burmese people - this hand is big enough to control all natural resources of Burma and to squeeze all criticisms of the UN and the west out of shape; off course, why should Chinese government have mercy on us as it has no mercy on its own minorities. China’s position to Burma is clear and unwavering. Helplessly to Burmese tragedies and ongoing plight, China is too strong to face the world alone as the world has been swallowed into the economic sinkhole of China’s cheap labours.

However, unlike the national convention, the junta has already given the people the chance to learn the referendum. So postponing is rather not quite a good solution as the junta doesn’t want the people to have enough time to learn its trick and its self-serving constitution. It’s just that this referendum is not for democracy as we all know. But the junta has its backings anyway; who else? Just the same faces.

And the paranoid junta also needs to save its own face - it simply doesn’t want to people see and judge how its services are useless but good at suppression only. Certainly the junta cannot and so won’t let itself being compared with the qualified aids workers from all over the world.

Thanks to Thailand for being able to convince the junta to accept its help.

After all in Burma, life is cheaper than the military uniforms. The soldiers, let alone the generals, wouldn’t go into any mud to get wet and perspired - even when needing to save a life. Off course, why would they save any life as they’re just kept as killers - it would go against their profession.

Whether the aids workers are seen as members of the CIA in the eyes of the generals, as long as they have China in UN for them, nobody will be able to open Burma’s borders. They’re certainly inhumane demons.

Rather we must welcome all kinds of efforts in storm relief, including forceful airdrops of food and other necessities. However, the survivors of storm Nargis will be victimized by the junta if they attempt to claim the airdropped supplies. Or once the supplies are dropped, people will be on the hunt for them. The generals have already sent a signal that nothing will be tolerated during referendum. I’ve seen on TV military trucks are lined up indicating the junta’s readiness to crackdown any political movement.

We must assume the junta will do anything, despite the storm has claimed 100,000 lives, to keep itself on power. As the junta has won every battle inside Burma by brutal force and on the international stage by its superpower bodyguard - China, we must understand our situation.

So any attempts of the aids workers, the UN and any country that do not get permission of the junta can cause unwanted outcomes. But the Burmese people just need the world to do so as they have been deprived to death anyway.
