All countries have army. None of them can afford off-guard.
War is required to establish peace sometimes and military trains the youths to
fight and arouse their patriotism for defense. Buddhism doesn't ask them not to
do it. They are responsible for their safety in the world of bloody history. If
they want to practice Buddhism in peace, then they must defend their state and
society and keep peaceful conditions. Freedom is not free, you must fight for
it.

Tamils in Sri Lanka are
generally the descendents of invading armies from Tamil Nadu, India so they
are not actually natives. It's not quite right to blame the descendents for
what their ancestors did but they don't really have the right to claim the
land. This is true to Rohingyas in Burma/Myanmar too as they came from the
other side of border. The land is of the Rakhines. Muslims lived peacefully in Burma for a long time, but recent the jehad
ideology has reached into Burma
too.
Before judging, it's good to find out actual situations.
Buddhism as taught by the Buddha
is a school of philosophy (sort of) based on reasons, not superstitions and
faith, so it has schools. All schools have bad students. Schools dispel them.
You can talk with learned Buddhists about the law of nature, life, death, etc.
Buddhism is the science of mind - more than mere psychology as it has purpose:
to liberate oneself from delusion.
I'm a follower of the Buddha .
Original Buddhism is maintained by Theravada traditions. Of course, there are
bad Buddhists. Why can't we all be good in the world?
Verse 183: Not to do evil, to cultivate merit, to purify
one's mind - this is the Teaching of the Buddhas .
