Kosovo's Independence

I don't feel any particular the way Kosovo became independent. This was predicted even though I wasn't so sure. There was no choice as there was no solution reached. I don't know what the Serb leaders offered the Kosovans physically and as promises for peace and developments but I believe the Kosovans wanted their independence anyway and this is their only choice. The war against the Kosovan Albanians made the two communities never to reconcile as a country.

The problem was Russia's involvement in the case. The Serbs shouldn't have sought Russia's vocal aid. Russia has been completely on the opposite side of the west and has been playing political games in its own sake in the region and in the world. As Russia has been seeking attention or a fresh influence in the world by siding with the wrong people, such as dictators, the free world would trust it never. The steps of Russia have been so far clear in the recent political arenas in the region and in Asia. It has the only intention - to do the opposite against the west whether to do the right thing or the wrong. This has been discredited it so far. Right now, Russia is too selfish and untrustworthy. I don't think the Russian leaders care too much about this or they wouldn't keep this sitution as it is.

Nobody dares to trust the future without independence and this happened with East Timor and Ache too. If there wasn't tsunami that claimed hundred of thousands of victims, Ache could be still in war.

I believe it's the right choice that the Kosovans have taken even though this is truely unfair to the Kosovan Serbs.
