All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
(Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Burmese)
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.
Article 9:
Burma is known as a golden land made of several ranges (or ‘Yoma’ in Burmese) where thousands of tribal memories, wisdoms, religions, cultures and beauties of plants and animals dwell. The rivers, all of them are indeed important to the people and other existences, snake through these beautiful mountainous regions and flow from the north to the south where Indian Ocean is. The peoples, Burma has 103 ethnics, all of them used to be really generous and all they knew was to give.
Since the modern day’s dictators have systematically destroyed, now the golden land is famous for its narcotic trades, refugees, migrant workers and various atrocities and sufferings.
One day, we’ll be free again and the land will be again famous for its beauty.

Rambo IV
The picture is for everyone. This film seems supporting our cause of democracy and freedom.
It seems not art for art sake or film for film sake.
It delivers some relief and raises anger.
Shouldn't we be able to kill the way Rambo did?
Although it's not realistic, doesn't really matter!
It's rather symbolic.
And it raises a question - Is violent way alone our real option to free our country?
I don't know how many Burmese people will watch it.
I haven't!
But I BELIEVE THIS FILM WILL BE RECORDED INto OUR HISTORY!
Labhamuni Buddha

Certainly difficult to type in Burmese as to be searching and picking the consonants and the vowels. Even about important issues related to the Burmese only, I still prefer to type in English.
It was during 1991-1992 period in Bangkok that I first saw the image of Maha Labhamuni Buddha of Old Myon-Mya City, Arrawaddy Division. Then the image of this Buddha was very popular among the Burmese. The look of the statue is really handsome and its appearance shows the trace of wealth and power – rather uniquely unlike other Buddha statues. The image was not alone but also with a cabalistic diagram. The diagram appeared incomplete that parts of it were smashed away so it appeared more puzzling.
It interested me as I was interested in such astrological, magical things. So I copied it and kept it wherever I went for three years. In 1995, an accident occurred and many residents of Maniloi Burmese Student Centre, near Ratchburi, were sent to the well-known SDC where I lasted for a year. There I got some inspiration to solve this puzzle. So I found how it should appear.
A few months ago, I got the idea to organize my Burmese poems and make them a word document from my books. And I drew this diagram also. Therefore, I got a chance to share it with all Burmese visiting my Blog.
I've tried to find the image of this Buddha on the web but I'm not lucky. And I haven't seen His image so long since 1991-2.
I guess the artists who built this statue and the astrologers behind making this cabalistic diagram were ancient Mon people as old Myon-Mya was part of Mon Kingdom. I wish could get access to read the history of this statue.
Series of Thoughts In Chaos in Series
Unfortunately, the society pities lonely people by forcing us to believe that loneliness is a serious pain. Even though, it is indeed a pain, the society should not force people believe this is serious. Loneliness is natural and everybody has to live with it somewhat. This is not a problem. So the society should lecture people how beautiful loneliness is.
Indeed, loneliness or whatever you want to interpret your emotion of being alone or left alone or being outcast, there is some profound beauty in it.
Every student needs private time and space to learn; so does everyone else! You see how beautiful this private time is! You never feel so lonely because you have purpose, a serious one or not.
A writer needs to write. A painter needs to paint. A boxer needs to practice. A monk needs to meditate. Whoever has a serious thing to do, whether to concentrate or to inspire or to create, needs privacy, silence, ambience, solitude and a harmonious or reflective surrounding. A purpose in loneliness makes loneliness a necessary thing.
Still loneliness can bite with bone crashing bites anyone deep into the boneless heart at anytime! It can bite because one has a belief that loneliness is a bad situation. This belief can makes one mad! Very, very mad! This madness can make one to be too sensitive, needy and worse of all is self pitying. Usually the young ones who are forced by who want attention or want to bully, their inexperienced emotion can kill them.
How could one believe that if one die with someone one loves will make the two together again afterlife? If this is the idea to make suicide, then must be very stupid. Isn’t it better to be now with the loved ones then afterlife? And the other reason is – if not in this life, let us be together after life? To believe this, one must know who made this law and who decides.
No sages ever said suicide would ever bring you luck or new opportunity. Well, you don’t have to believe them but at least you better not do anything stupid anyway. None of the ones who killed themselves can provide the reality so you can say it’s fifty-fifty chance. But why would one believes in fifty-fifty? One rather believes in current reality than uncertain hope. No hope ever come completely a hundred percents as expected. This is reality in usual nature.
But beware, loneliness can kill! It kills mentally like a cancer.
I try to know my psychological problem. And I found what I’ve just written. It’s ok, isn’t it?
Democracy & Responsibility
Not everything is moral despite moral rules vary among cultures. We must clearly understand this. And thus, political and social moral codes must clearly be stated in every constitution. Sooner or later, these moral codes will be challenged for better or worse. A good people will not make their children blind and stupid but give the best moral education alongside with sciences and arts.
Buddhist Evolutionary Theory (Part one)
As evolutionary theory is well-known, this essay focuses mainly on the less known Buddhist view.
Despite having a common ground – changing, the rest falls into disagreements. Buddhism says the start of life cannot be seen or explained; creatures do not evolve without desires of their own. And the start of humankind on this earth was simply as humans but they had divine powers because they came from higher worlds or Bhumi of the brahmas.
First humans were, thus, the brahma-like beings who had lights produced by their own physical body – unlike the deep sea creatures, their light shone far distance. They didn’t have to eat to satisfy their hunger. They only traveled by air with the divine power but not flying. And therefore, the start of life on this earth was the start of humankind.
During the first mankind started wandering the earth, there were no sun and moon, not even the stars, all dark – this should be noticed. Hence, the earth seemed to be the first object to appear in the solar system but I don’t believe the Buddha mentioned it this way; rather the sun and the moon didn’t shine yet. If this solar system started from the cloud of dusts, as a theory suggests, then there could be other objects too yet to become mature. If the stars were out there shining, it could be the clouds of dusts that blocked the starlight.
In agreement with cloud condensation theory, Buddhism suggests there was a big rain and it made the earth. So the clouds weren’t just dusts but all kinds of elements solid, liquid and gas. So the first form of earth was not rough and indigestible soils and rocks but nutritious creams which can be eaten directly.
Discontentment is the property of ordinary beings. And by seeing these nutritious creams so long, these brahma-like humans couldn’t control their desires and tasted the creams. Because of that they soon changed into a form with holes allover their bodies, as we have now, to form digestive system to handle food and wastes. And from that, as holes were formed, the distinction between male and female became clear that some were deserved to become males and some females.
Nobody Really Knows?
I think the temperature within the earth or underneath the crust of the earth must change time to time but rather very slightly. And so must the heat from the sun alter. I can’t imagine how constant the temperatures could be. However, the heat from inside earth must not penetrate the crust. Yet how the inner heat of the earth effects the atmosphere needs investigation. I rather favor that it should only affect general tectonic activity and the earth magnetic fields.
The clear evidence is Co2 is being dumped into the atmosphere. We know the air has weight. The denser it becomes, the heavier it must become. Then, is the air around the earth getting denser and heavier? I guess so! As CO2 has nowhere to go it must squeezes into any available gaps in the atmosphere. Certainly we have been shouldering heavier load for a few decades.
When the denser air moves, the frictions must be stronger and this must produce more heat. When the denser winds blow, they must make ice to melt faster and the sea to evaporate quicker – at least in theory. Because of being denser, the thunderbolts must become different as well – my two cents!!!
Apart from CO2 capturing the heat from the sun, atmosphere is like water on the stove that all sorts of things that produce heat could be considered as the stove for atmosphere. As the water gradually getting hotter, the atmosphere also gradually getting hotter as well due to nonstop burning of fossil fuels and other things. Should this cause be underestimated? If this cause is to be true, I wonder if the world stop the burning for a few days or three days a week, the atmosphere could become normal again.
Another theory that has suggested about the global dimming argues that the global dimming could make the atmosphere colder by blocking the sunlight reaching the earth or reflecting it back to the space. If the global dimming doesn’t cool the atmosphere down, some alternative thinking or consideration on other possible causes must come forward.
oil and burma, also water
Next year? $200? If not yet next year, it could become $200 a barrel within 5 years!!!
Certainly we will have to ride horses and donkey as speedy transportation unless ... there is successful alternative energies. I don't like to ride horses but want to be one :)))
We, Burmese, know how important horses were and we've read how good they were and we even know there were (are) horses that the divines have to rely on even though these powerful divines have (had) full of powers - mythology or whatever I believe in ghosts because I believe they exist because I believe I saw one with my own eyes!!!
Now I shall go back to oil...
What will Burma do if oil is not affordable anymore? We will be worse-off certainly! I have suggested that we'll sell gas and oil and the money we get from this must be invested in alternative energies or renewable energies that we must build wind towers everywhere as we have 3000 miles long shoreline from the north of Rakhine State to the souther tip Kosaung. Then we won't have any trouble about energy for ten or twenty years. Once we become well-off, much more developed, we would be able to invest in similar projects off-shore for wind, wave and solar sectors. Then we would be able to go on another two decades. I don't think I should suggest for the next 60 years as I wouldn't be alive any longer.
Certainly I will oppose any dam building for hydroelectric projects. I hate to see losing our beautiful landscapes and wildlife. We must preserve them as treasure. A Burmese saying is u-tu ya-thi Taw ko mhi ii or the weather is up to the forests. We had wisdom so we must have it in the future even though we don't have it now...
On the other hand, we must build dams anyway just for drinking water - we have to know global warming will affect Burma too that our fresh water reserves - such as silver caps, rivers and streams could become less sufficient. Here we must build dams near villages, towns and cities that wouldn't severely affect or damage our environments...I think our cities must become smaller but higher in the future.
I always believe human is always better in long term and this is why we had grammar and sophisticated sentences that will certainly drive these chimps to madhouse!!! Consider Sanskrit the so-known complete language - the scientists didn't consider how Pali worked by the way.
I'm not a scientist but only a yet to be successful artist... so my thought might not be logic. Thanks for your time here.
UN Must Change Tactic and Move On
As an old saying, can’t wake up who’s not asleep – because the pretender is fully aware of what’s going on, you can’t make the generals cooperate. You need a bit of cruelty in your heart to make the pretender get up – a bucket of water certainly do the task. But you might not want to choose to wet the bed like this so you might need to order pizza and eat it frenzy deliberately.
But still the second tactic might not work as it’s still conditional so you better choose crueler ways, one I can suggest what I heard from youth is to put a piece of paper between two toes and light it – yet you don’t need to light it up straight a way. Once you pretend to light it, just give the sound from the match, and also murmuring a threat will work. Even if the first two ideas fail, the last one certainly won’t; however, you might get a kick as the pretender is aware of you positioning the paper between two toes.
The UN and the international community has used the first two tactics – dialogue and aids but they only made the junta go loosed and got wilder and more stubborn now. But is the third method possible to make the junta to change its blatant way of facing international pressure?
One idea I can suggest is, if the UN forces ever to invade Burma, the entry from Mon State is quite possible by superior navy. The entry point is Belu-Kyonn (Ogre Island) the biggest island in Mon State. The island is not far from capital Moulmein (Mowlamyine). Nearest points are, I guess, no more than a mile apart. As the island is vast and defenseless, the marines can get in easily to establish a major base and navy can supply everything the base will need. And sooner the UN can invade Moulmein to Sittown where the famous Sittown paper mill and Sittown Bridge are located. Once the UN reaches this place, the rest of the south will be secured – I don’t believe there will be resistant at all.
Well, you can go on thinking for the rest parts.
2.
If UN ever succeed Burma’s freedom by any means, I would like to campaign to lend an Island for free of charge to the UN to govern under its complete control so it would be able to process international refugees, asylum seekers etc. This will boost the image of Burma and this must be the reward. Local economy would get a market as well.
Which Island would be suitable? I guess one of the Coco Islands or in Rakhine State or Southern Burma Kosaung! I don’t know what size the Island should be to house hundred of thousands of refugees but the UN will take care of them.
This idea would be supported by EU I believe as it has been facing refugee problems but it will be costly if to send the refugees from EU to Burma but UN would be able to do it anyway. Or shouldn’t Burma donate a medium size ship too? Australia would be glad as it wouldn’t have to face similar refugee problems from 2000 and 2006. And this would give Burma a nice face in international arena.
Also the refugees wouldn’t have endure prisons or locked up in camps. They would be able to roam on the Island but won’t come to Burma mainland. They wouldn’t grow crops or produce products they would need but they would get chance for learning I guess.
The local Burmese would go and sell products once a week on market days or they might get a chance to open shops there but they must go with UN’s laws. Some local Burmese would be employed as UN staffs and as teachers.
3.
Though it seems the UN couldn’t handle the junta in a tougher way, the narrow way which the UN can go with the military junta wouldn’t become a solution for democracy in Burma and this has been clarified how the junta treated the top UN officials. Even the Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon wasn’t sent a welcome message during his trip to Thailand by the junta; it’s certainly a discomfort to see the way the UN has been responded and this doesn’t seem to have an end. It’s obvious that the softly, softly approach of Mr. Gambari couldn’t changed the generals’ minds.
The exiles didn’t expect Mr. Gambari became unsuccessful but as bright as a real African diamond – tough and clear. Now it seems he also needs special knowledge about Burma and all the three regions surrounded Burma. Unless he understands the dept of the twisty politics of this region, his predictions and decisions wouldn’t become just right for what he wants to succeed which is what we have been waiting for decades. Yet this is not his fault and we have to understand this.
His fault is the way he is trying to reach the generals and persuade them. I don’t really know what can sway their minds to become positive about the UN and dialogue. And unfortunately he still cannot succeed in getting the solid support of the major players in the region. And he, I guess, could do more on this.
I guess his direct attempt to meet the generals after the second meeting has undermined his effort, (perhaps the political developments are the true reasons then it’s clear that the generals wanted to use his missions for their advantage but when it became the opposite of their expectation, they seem to have dump Mr. Gambari already), that it looked he dropped the hook into the water with a big bate, that made the generals looked to be on track for dialogue or allowed them to mislead the UN once more, but the string was not attached. And it seems his way of secrecy or not using the media is also his weakness. And he also has failed to insist or pressure the big players who keep the general on track or unchanged. His biggest mistake was he trusted everyone or perhaps he seemed to accept the game without his rules. Here I think he has to be much, much smarter in the future and must handle the media well because the media can help him in a particular way. But as this card has been revealed, and also played, I hope he’d find a nicer way to get on his track again.
Other factors should be considered too. As it’s clear some of the regional countries are not committed to change Burma, the UN has to emphasize on this and made clear how this is unsustainable. Again the UN must not overestimate the regional countries in doing their parts as the UN has been expecting. It’s true the UN has to become tougher and more solid in facing unrest around the world. The UN must have a voice to discriminate and criticize every wrong doers.
Apart from that, Mr. Gambari must be granted visa free entries to meet the people he wants inside Burma to carry out his tasks for reconciliation and dialogues. Certainly, he would need to see NLD individuals and also students and monks. To meet him or not is rather individual decision, as the top generals did, however, he still must have a privilege that is special to a person working on the peace of Burma.
Even though the UN might not succeed the results it should expect, it is the biggest organization to carry out peace in Burma. It should be sanction that the UN concerned officials should speak about by now. The UN must sanction the generals. All business and tourism investments must end. The sooner the generals become bankrupt, the faster Burma will see the way to freedom. It’s true that lack of tourists hurt some local people who are also anti-junta. Also significantly, millions others are in uncertain condition day to day. The sufferings of the people, thus, should end sooner than later that prolonging the effects of the suppressive junta is not the interest of Burma, the UN and Free World. In this case, the free world shouldn’t slow down its support for what the UN has to carry out and at the same time should be increasing decisive attacks on the junta directly.
